Local Search Results/Free Business Directories

Having your business listed in the “Local Search Results” is KEY to having a successful online marketing campaign. The best way to get started is to submit your business listing to as many Business Directories as possible. Depending on your niche, there are many Free directories. You would be surprised to find that your competition is already taking advantage of these free listings. Most directories offer a free link back to your website in your listing.

It takes some time to create and submit your listing. My advice (from experience) is to have a Description of your business that you can use for all of the directories you subscribe to. They will only allow so many characters for this description, so make it clear, consise, and to the point.

Some directories will ask for a back-link ( also called a reciprocal link) to their website/homepage for attribution. My theory is “No-Problem”! Most often they will provide some html code for you to copy and paste somewhere on your website and once this is verified, they will place your business listing in their directory.
