If you are like me, you are passionate about your business. When I first started into web design, I didn’t have a clue as to how to create my own website using the latest technology, but my passion lead me on to figure out a few basics to make it happen.
Of course, I had to learn the hard way, using an off-line web editing software that claimed it was easy! After two years of a learning curve just figuring out how to use the software, I was then introduced to a platform called WordPress that changed everything.
I wanted the best of both worlds from having a killer website (Appearance and Functionality) and all the necessary tools for SEO (Search Engine Optimization), this is where the Thesis Theme came into play. Thesis is a template package that compliments WordPress, giving the user complete control on a personal design/layout and the ability to optimize every page with Meta-Data, Titles, and Descriptions that will tell the search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing what to display in the search results for your website.
This all might sound complicated, but it’s actually simpler than you think.
I’d like to show you how WordPress & Thesis works using my personal website/blog Backgroundacoustic.com as an example below.

Ok, this is the actual google search for “background acoustic”,

and the results of that google search!

Now, if you compare the image above (search result) with the image below (seo details), you will notice that the Custom Title Tag I’ve inserted into the SEO Details and Additional Style box, matches the title that shows in the Google Search Result. The same applies for the Meta Description which is inserted in the SEO Details box. So many people are confused when I start talking about this application and how it relates to the search results, search engines, etc.. This SEO feature in the Thesis theme is designed to work within the WordPress platform.
