Thesis Site Options panel for the Google site-verification codeAdding the code  (Google Webmaster-Tools)

Adding the html verification code to the head section of your website is a breeze using the wordpress Thesis theme. In your dashboard go to:

Thesis/Site Options and under the column titled Document Head, click the + sign next to Additional Scripts. Copy and paste the html code that is given to you by Google from the webmaster tools in the box below it.

Adding the code (Google Analytics)

*Note: This is also the same options panel to use for setting up the Google Analytics stats tracking code. Just copy and paste code in the Stats/Software Scripts below Additional Scripts.

Does it make any difference to Google if you ad it to the page head or upload the html file to the root? Also they say to leave the code there after verification, is there a particular reason for this?
Thanks, Adam

Hi Adam,
Thesis makes it easy for you to set up a google site verification script to the document head in the Thesis Site Options, Document Head Section, under Additional Scripts. Once you have copied and pasted the verification code from Google Webmaster Tools, I’d leave it alone. Better to do this process one time and forget about it. I hope that helps.

Thanks, Mark
