Content
The content on your website’s pages and how it is displayed is KEY to having a successful internet marketing campaign. When visiting traffic comes to your site, you need to give them a clear understanding of your products and/or services that you have to offer. Let em know that they have come to the Right Place or they will do one of two things; Hit the back-button or Close out of the browser completely!
1. Making your website “Customer Friendly”.
2. Making your website “Search Engine Friendly”.
Both of these goals are equally important and in no particular order to:
Drawing traffic to your site, Keeping traffic on your site (making your site “Sticky”), and Converting traffic ie. , getting a phone call, contact letter, email, making a sale as an end result!
Navigation
Taking into consideration the Bounce Factor, put yourself in the place of a customer as they come to your website. Don’t make them click a 1/2 dozen times to find what they need! When a customer gets lost, it defeats the whole purpose of navigation on your website. Make sure that your “Contact Information” is clearly visible on your website’s pages. Provide as many possible ways for them to contact you such as a phone #, fax #, email, and a contact form.
SEO
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. What this means is making your website search engine friendly. When an author writes a book, they will include an Index Page to give the reader a quick reference to what’s inside the book. In much the same way this also applies to your website (the book) and the search engine that will index your website for the customer (reader) who is performing a Google Search. I’m sure that you have heard the term ” Google It”!
For the most part, the content on your website’s pages will give the search engines a good idea of who you are, what you do, and above all, show authority in your subject area. The more information you can provide to the customer of your products and/or services, whether it be on your products pages, galleries, testimonials and even upcoming events, this will effectually work your website’s listing such as a Google Business Listing at the TOP of a search result on the first page.
” Is the content on my website relevant to the search terms of my targeted market?”
The resource tool that I use for myself and my customers is called Market Samurai. This software is great for researching keywords and also your competition levels for those keywords. You can save a lot of time and effort tracking the progress/results of your entire website’s listings (any page/post url) for any number of keywords that you are optimizing for search results in Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
Market Samurai is not very expensive. I would recommend having this keyword tool for those are especially concerned where their website is ranking in search results. In my opinion, why wouldn’t you be?!
Don’t get me wrong, you don’t absolutely need this, but I will be honest, they have THE BEST video tutorials that explain how to use their software and keyword research itself. When you’re ready, try it for free, you won’t regret it!
